If everything always went according to plan this would indeed be a very boring world. Challenges are there to be overcome and some mistakes can become "happy accidents". What we are anxious about today may be the laughter of tomorrow.
It does help to have a plan but when things change it's imperative to be able to adapt. For instance, when I start a new art project I start with an emotion to set the scene. As I go forward if that emotion no longer fits I cast it aside, it's never an arbitrary decision the trick is to be true to yourself and your creation.
I never planned to fall in love, I never planned to find wonderful and supportive friends, and I never planned to have a creative passion. Now that this is all so I could never imagine living without these truths. To be at ease when things do not go according to plan is a challenge but one worth the effort when the end result is revealed.
This is a cover I did for T.K. Wade's novel "A Wolf in My Bedroom". His stories can be found at www.smashwords.com and www.tkwade.com I highly recommend all his great works.

I am so happy I found you, Chris. I hope you keep drawing and expanding your craft out into new places. Never be satisfied with the status quo. Humanity was meant to constantly evolve at high rates. The blossoming does not have to end.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that is a wonderful cover. It will look great on my book. :)
Absolutely, that's the beauty of it we never have to settle for less. There is no end to the possibilities to expand, we have a real chance to change things as they are.
DeleteTrue to your divine lineage, you make it up as you go along yet you are not wandering. Your quest was and is to find the unexpected. You create to think and feel beyond your mortal thoughts and feelings. You look to see, not to know. You listen to hear, not to speak. You live not to grind but to make something eternal. Onward, my friend! Onward! The best is yet to come... and YOU are part of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, I am excited for the future and diligent in the present. May things go far beyond what we planned.
DeletePlans just give a starting point. Nothing ever goes according to plan, so it is necessary to adapt. Life is unpredictable and that unpredictability is one of its charms.
ReplyDeleteAdaptation is indeed key to success, control is never the goal once things are in motion.
